How to Back Up Your Book Marks


For Internet Explorer Users

1. Click Start

2. Click Computer

3. Double Click Local Disk (C:)

4. Double Click Users

5. Double Click your user account name IE: a_moody

6. Double Click Favorites

7. Select the Book Marks that you want to keep and copy and paste them to a folder on an external hard drive or flash drive or your H drive or your Google Drive.


For Mozilla Firefox Users

1. Depending on your version of Firefox follow appropriate instructions. If your version Firefox has a giant orange button that says Firefox in the top left of the screen follow instruction set A. If it does not. Follow instruction set B.


Instruction Set A:

· Click the orange Firefox Button.

· Click the Bookmarks button (not the arrow, but the actual button)

· Click Import and Backup

· Then Click Export Bookmarks to HTML


Instruction Set B:

· In the top right of Firefox, click the bookmarks button.  

             

· A list will appear. Click “Show All Bookmarks” at the bottom of the list.

· Click Import and Backup

· Click Export Bookmarks to HTML

· A window will open up and you can choose where you want to save the file that contains your book marks as well as name the file. I would recommend leaving it the default name of the file as “bookmarks”.


For Google Chrome Users

1. Click the 3 bars in the top right of the screen

2. Click the bookmarks button.

3. Click Bookmarks Manager. A new page will come up.

4. Click the organize tab.

5. Click export to html file. You can choose where you want to save the file that contains your book marks as well as name the file. I would recommend leaving it the default name of the file as “bookmarks”.



How to Restore/Import Your Bookmarks

For Internet Explorer Users

1. Open your folder where you copied and pasted all your favorites to.

2. Select all favorites.

3. Right Click them and click copy.

4. Click Start

5. Click Computer

6. Double Click Local Disk (C:)

7. Double Click Users

8. Double Click your user account name IE: a_moody

9. Double Click Favorites

10. Right click in the favorites window and click Paste.

11. All your bookmarks are now available to you in Internet Explorer.


For Mozilla Firefox Users
